Hello Cyclists.

I believe many of you will be out and about this weekend getting "Intoxicated with the Freedom of Cycling".

SaddleDrunker Stuart Carpenter will talk of the recent SaddleDrunk & AFC Bournemouth collaboration.

The idea came to me whilst out cycling. The idea to bring SaddleDrunk , Matt Ritchie and AFC Bournemouth together to create a STYLISH, BESPOKE brand of cycle clothing and accessories. THE PHILOSOPHIES OF SD, TO PROVIDE TOP QUALIITY CYCLE CLOTHING, TO ENHANCE PEOPLE'S CONFIDENCE IN WHAT THEY ARE WEARING AT A PRICE THEY CAN AFFORD WITHOUT COMPROMISING OUR BELIEFS OF HOW THINGS SHOULD LOOK AND FEEL.

Through a mutual friend, Darryl Flahavan I have got to know Matt well and we both share a love for cycling.

Through my involvement with Stef at SaddleDrunk I put the idea to him about making Matt an official ambassador of SaddleDrunk.

A few weeks later we have Matt on board and the AFC Bournemouth Club shop wanting to promote and sell the clothing.

MATTS OWN PROFESSIONALISM, ATTENTION TO DETAIL AND STLYE FITS THE PHILOSOPHIES OF US HERE AT SD. TOGETHER WITH MATT WE HOPE TO CREATE A RANGE OF CLOTHING THAT WILL APPEAL TO ALL AFC BOURNEMOUTH CYCLE FANS. WE HOPE TO BRING THESE TWO SPORTS TOGETHER, CREATE SOMETHING BEAUTIFUL, STYLISH AND TOTALLY UNIQUE.

The SaddleDrunk Team (minus Carlos) flew out to Scotland to visit one of the Team sponsors last Friday.

Part of our principles at SaddleDrunk is to meet the people behind the team. These people matter a lot to the SD Team enabling us to achieve great results. These are the sponsors.

We traveled to the Moorlands to arrive at Charlie Mils Coffee Roasting House. The drive was just flabbergasting by the scenery.

While I was driving, I hoped that I could rivet on the bike, this was due to the great presence of hills. The element of the weather made it even juicer.

After my brain was blown away by the beauty of the location, the staff at CMCRH provided astonishing hospitality. We were welcomed with copious variety of Home-Made Scottish delicacies. We were left speechless by X Y & Z stories about the history behind CMCRH. We felt intoxicated by the joy to being part of their lives.

We sat on the coffee beans bags to taste the various blends available from the TIP TOP to the KOM. Just a full on initiation of a pleasant tachycardia (heart rate that exceed normal range).

Loads of ideas and projects erupted from this coffee scented atmosphere. The freedom of cycling was streaming along our veins letting us to feel SaddleDrunk.

We emphasize the simplicity and the purity of the CMCRH coffee. We will now always look forward to drinking their coffee blends during our daily routines, meetings, parties & gatherings.

London 2 Paris 24 hours Challenge 2015

YES......

Due to high demand we are doing it again,but now with normal bikes.

We have set 3 different dates for the forthcoming summer.

Details are below:

Depart Paperback Coffee at 1700 ride to Newhaven to be there at no later then 2230 106km;(we might have an earlier start for slower riders around 1500);
Ferry is at 2330pm;
Ferry standard seat to Dieppe arrive at 5am local time;
Then ride for 55km to the first stop..The only café will be open after we have ridden on the Avenue Verte;
Follow up 2 more stops, total riding from Dieppe to Paris 170km;
One night accommodation in Paris on a double room Hotel in Place D’Italie,Paris for the Saturday night;
One way ticket from Paris to London with Eurostar in the late afternoon (5pm or 6pm);
Insurance will be part of the fee;
SaddleDrunk Event Cycling Jersey;
Please state which date would you be interested max number of riders 20;

24th July 2015;

Le Quattro Stagioni.

"Le Quattro Stagioni" usually are referred to Pizza's toppings or Antonio Vivaldi music or the Seasons in the calendar year.

Today, we are not referring to those but something that if you are reading this, it is because you are passionate or stunned by the nature of this sport. Cycling. Why?

Long time ago, when I was younger the sport of cycling was practiced during the months of fair weather,but nowadays it is a 24 hours a day for 365 days a year.

On a daily basis few or more millions of cyclist are hitting the roads with their second girlfriends or second wives, I might get in trouble here, but I am only talking about the bikes. The subject of this blog it is a results of the recents bike accidents have been happening here in London in the last few months,which some caused death to cyclists.

Away from Strava Segments & Virtual Badges.

We need to remind ourselves that we are the most vulnerable within the road users.We are like a little ant trying to cross the Africa's savana during migration. Therefore, every time you click on the cleats you need to stop thinking about racing along the roads to get better segment or to show off.

You need to start loving yourself. Respect the road users, don't shout abusive words to drivers. Let's make sure us, cyclists start respecting the others even if we have not got the cycle lanes.

You could be a fixie,hipster,roadie ,BMX,MTB etc. etc. makes no difference.We are all the same sharing the passion of the 2 wheels. Let's start to be polite and obey the rules.

Last week I sat down on a main junction in central London with a traffic light.My task was to observe the behaviour of 100 cyclists using the junction. Just the length of drinking an espresso and chatting to a friend for less the an hour to come to those results.

20% Cyclist respect the traffic lights and waited in the cycles box.The rest 80% were just abysmal.

We want to be respect, and be protected. The only one can do it, is ourselves.

We,then cycle all year in any weather conditions,therefore experience should be gained.

There is no need to listen to music while cycling, if you want to look cool do it of the road. Remember hearing is one of the most important safety aspects.

I am not here to teach you rocket science,and tell you of like your parents. But sometimes we take the most obvious point granted.Therefore you need someone to remind you that.

Let's make cycling part of our culture, it is important that we do behave well on the roads.

Remember if you use the jungle rule, someone weaker than you will be affected by your inappropriate behaviour. Sometimes cyclists abuse drivers.Those drivers abused by cyclists will abuse a fellow cyclist.
